Maybe, we don't know!
But if you live in one of 24 US major metropolitan areas — from Southern California to Northern New Jersey, from Detroit to Louisville, Ky. and maybe elsewhere, then yes, your water is at last tainted.
Interestingly, this report comes on the heels of the report claiming LA (of all places) has the best drinking water in the US!
Must be something in the water... Soma maybe?
When many of us think of the future we tend to think that Orwell's dark parable 1984 was right on the money. It does appear he was very close in the psychological, media, educational and legislative manipulation department, however there was another important view of our shared future as well, Aldus Huxley's "Brave New World." An artificially controlled world where the Sheeple are medicated into obedience and willing subservience.
Orwell's future uses more Humanistic Psychology, future shock and peer pressure while Huxley's vision relies more on drugs (medication) and feel-good manipulation. The New World Order uses both very effectively.
Is this current water report merely witnessing the short coming in our water supply system or is something more diabolical happening?

When I first became ill with this mysteriously debilitating disease, we tried homeopathic treatments for a while. I was amazed to learn how they can distill practically everything out of these substantances and still, in the minutest of amounts, even arsenic can be used to cure. In this study the Associated Press, the last somewhat free media in the US (as in less controlled for now), show that the amounts of various drugs, "including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones — have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans..." but in minuscule quantities. We can probably say with some degree of confidence that no damage has been caused such by slight amounts...

But then we remember homeopathy and we have to wonder what else might be in the water that they didn't detect (or didn't tell us they detected) ... moreover, in this day of genetic manipulation what is the situation with the ones they found? Can such low amounts of these substances, like many homeopathic substances, have effects that surpass what one would logically expect? Is LA's current crime downturn due to the presence of mood stabilizers in the water?

Could this be part of a research project on the public? Are the powers-that-be looking for more effective ways to control us via the water we drink, bath in etc.?

In 1989, as many of my regular readers know, I was healthy, weighed about 175 lbs (79.3 kg) of lean muscle and had no negative health issues. Then one morning I awoke to the worst physical pain I have ever experienced in my life to date, my ankles had swollen to the size of cantaloupes, my skin was burning from the bone out as though millions of angry fire ants had invaded my body and were seeking to escape, my vision was terribly blurred and I was so utterly fatigued I could barely move.... there was practically no part of my body than was not in severe pain.
I spent the next three years mainly in bed suffering with various constantly roaming ailments, hypersomnia and insomnia. Eventually my wife could take no more and divorced me, not wishing to watch my slow death which she felt certain was coming... I went to India, seeking either a cure from the Ayervedins or to die on the banks of the Holy Yamuna (frankly I was hoping for the later).
"Many are called, few are chosen." Perhaps my calling had come to an end and I would be allowed at long last to go Home to the Beloved. I could not see going on like this much longer...
My point is, early on in my illness my then wife went to her college class in San Francisco and her teacher, to whom she had not mentioned my situation, made a most interesting comment to class. He told his students that his brother was an FBI agent (this was pre-DHS) and that he had told him that the US government had been spraying "a form of influenza over the Bay Area" for the past couple of months and were monitoring area hospitals. He queried if anyone had noticed the low flying planes, he had on several occasions (once mentioned we also recalled seeing them on a few occasions and had wondered about them in passing). Supposedly this was part of their non-existence ongoing research for new types of biological weapons. Is this what made me ill?

We visited scores of standard Western health care professionals, Chinese medical practitioners, healing gurus, psychic healers, aura cleaners, reiki practitioners, acupuncturists (I have a cool picture of myself absolutely covered with acupuncture needles!) and acupresurists, Christian scientists, homoeopaths, faith healers, etc., a desperate series of actions that lead us into bankruptcy but nothing else. Still no one had any idea of what was wrong with me... besides her professor's point and that was just too far out there to accept.
A few months later, my time sense during this period is all but non-existent, my mother-in-law mailed us a magazine article about an illness we had never heard of before, Myalgic Encephalomyalitis (usually referred to in the US as either Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) or Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS), and by its sister condition, Fibromyalgia. These names do not begin to describe the true nature of this illness however so I usually use the name embraced by most other countries, ME.
Anyway, according to the article, the town of Incline Village, five or six hours away from our house, had been hit hard by the recently emerging illness. Of this initial outbreak Robert F. Cathcart, M. D. says,
But according to my Kaiser doctors, CFIDS was not a real disease!
Radio Quack Dr. Dean Edell even made fun of we sufferers and referred to our utterly debilitating illness as "female hysteria syndrome" (for some reason the illness typically hits women more frequently and more severely than men, although many men have it and have it bad as well)!
Kaiser shunted me around their area doctors for a while because we demanded help, but they could not have been more uncaring: Go see doctor so and so next month...
Fortunately for me, my then brother-in-law, who just happened to be a very successful So Cal malpractice attorney, wrote a "friendly letter" and lo and behold Kaiser agreed to send me out of house to a specialist at UC San Francisco Medical Center. The doc there walked into my exam room, files in hand, and told me what I had: Myalgic Encephalomyalits (he used this term and explained the controversy about the name in brief). As he honestly said, "There's good news and bad news. Its not in your head, you have a real and very serious illness. The bad news, there is no known cure nor any universal treatment and most people do not recover. Those who do, do so typically within 2-5 years."
That was 19 years ago. I remain ill.
More on the initial outbreak:
For years, CFS has been dismissed by many in the general public, the
medical profession, even experts at the Federal Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention. Fifteen years ago, a mysterious illness swept
through the Alpine resorts and towns near Lake Tahoe. Incline Village,
Nevada, was ground zero.
Dr. Dan Peterson is a local physician. He saw the first cases. He
relates, "The first ones were isolated cases. A marathon runner in town
who couldn't run any longer. Then we started seeing the clustering with
the girls' high school basketball team where the entire team became ill
-- extremely ill."
At Tahoe-Truckee High School, dozens of students came down with symptoms
resembling mononucleosis. So did a third of the teachers. Like Jerry
Kennedy who taught auto mechanics and drafting and his wife Janice who
taught high school English.
Jerry Kennedy tries to describe it; "You're not tired. You're... it's
like the blood's drained out of you, It's the worst feeling I've ever had
in my life. I can't compare it to anything else that's ever happened to
me."
Janice Kennedy adds, "It's like having bricks piled on you. It's as
though you're fighting to move at all."
The number of cases multiplied during the summer of 1985. Dr. Peterson
recalls, "That's when I first thought there's some new contagious disease
-- something in the water, some Typhoid Mary had come into the school
system and affected the kids and the teachers."
Besides fatigue, most patients developed a bizarre mental fogginess as
Jerry Kennedy confides, "You feel dumb because you can't remember things.
You forget people's.... You don't even comprehend the names. You lose
it."
And Janice's experience: "I remember one horrible moment when I asked
myself, 'What is a subordinate clause?' I could not remember what a
subordinate clause was." ["Subordinate clause" is an English grammar
term.]
Eventually, more than 250 people living around Lake Tahoe seemed to have
the illness. For months, Dr. Peterson couldn't persuade anyone to
investigate. Finally, the CDC agreed to send a two-man team.
Janice believed the CDC "didn't seem to feel that there was an epidemic,
and we knew there was. It might have been small, but it definitely
existed."
Dr. William Reeves is the CDC epidemiologist now in charge of
investigating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. He justifies the response, saying
the "CDC's study at that time failed to identify any evidence that there
was an unusual occurrence of a chronically fatiguing illness."

Fatigue Syndrome, I think every person who has had it, every family
member of someone who has it, every doctor who is familiar with it hates
that name because it seems to trivialize."

...This year, federal investigators found out. The CDC diverted between $9
and $13 million dollars, money that Congress had specifically set aside
to study CFS. Instead, it was spent on other diseases, like polio and
measles.
...Dr. Reeves restates, "This is a major public health problem, and as I
said, in Wichita at least, this is about a quarter the number of women
that have breast cancer, and it's about four times more than the number
of women that have cervical cancer."

... Recently, Peterson did his own follow-up of 180 of his original patients,
saying, "About 30 percent of them are still severely disabled. The
remainder have had substantial or at least partial improvements." But
when asked how many are completely recovered he answered, "None".

Through research we discovered, and here is the relevance to the present topic, that many people, including many health care professionals, believe the US government (CDC and military) and the World Health Organization is involved in ME and other newly emerging health conditions. If they are not responsible for creating and spreading these dis-eases, they have almost certainly contributed to a major cover-up about them. One of these concerned people writes:
There are those who trust our government and God; they know best. If there's a plague in our midst, surely, the authorities would warn us. Perhaps, perhaps not. In the 1930s, our tax dollars subsidized government scientists who experimented on human beings -- the Tuskegee study in which antibiotics were withheld from African-American men with syphilis and from their wives in order to chart the course of the disease. In the same and subsequent decades, African-American women were experimentally lobotomized at state asylums. In the 1940s and 1950s, U.S. government scientists injected plutonium and uranium into uninformed prisoners and non-prisoners alike. In the 1960s, government scientists gave mentally retarded children radioactive cereal; and in the 1970s, they exposed university residents to radiation for studies on radiation poisoning.
They didn't tell, we didn't ask. For years, our government denied the facts of Vietnam's Agent Orange and the Gulf War's sarin nerve gas and pesticides. Military computer logs were destroyed: The dog ate my homework.
Conspiracies? Cover ups? Sometimes. More often, the enemies are ignorance, terror, denial, incompetence, passivity, greed.
Years ago, my friend, the writer Susan Griffin, wrote that "In a terrible way, no one who has CFIDS is truly alone. Sadly, we are all part of this global process. Those who are ill [are] like canaries in the mine -- our sickness a signal of the sickness of the planet. An epidemic of breast cancer, the rising rate of lupus, MS, a plethora of lesser-known disorders of the immune system." Perhaps she was right.

What is the truth?
Frankly I don't know and I'm not convinced anyone does.
While I am often prone to give credence to certain "conspiracy theories," in this case I have thus far not found enough evidence to support placing the blame anywhere. This is not to say I dismiss such claims, only that...
...we don't know.
So, when I read articles like the following I think... hmmm... maybe we'll find out!

A vast array of pharmaceuticals — including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones — have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation shows.
To be sure, the concentrations of these pharmaceuticals are tiny, measured in quantities of parts per billion or trillion, far below the levels of a medical dose. Also, utilities insist their water is safe.
But the presence of so many prescription drugs — and over-the-counter medicines like acetaminophen and ibuprofen — in so much of our drinking water is heightening worries among scientists of long-term consequences to human health.
In the course of a five-month inquiry, the AP discovered that drugs have been detected in the drinking water supplies of 24 major metropolitan areas — from Southern California to Northern New Jersey, from Detroit to Louisville, Ky.
Water providers rarely disclose results of pharmaceutical screenings, unless pressed, the AP found. For example, the head of a group representing major California suppliers said the public "doesn't know how to interpret the information" and might be unduly alarmed.
How do the drugs get into the water?

This is where most people err in my opinion. They view all the various things happening on our little planet as isolated events. They don't connect the pieces. Those of us who try to do so are often disparaged as "conspiracy theorists" etc. But we need to uncover and understand the truth because, "The Truth will set us free."
