"Blame Israel." "Death to the Jews..." Here We Go Again!
Blame Israel. Death to the Jews...
Hezbollah of Lebanon threatens Israel yet again.... If only the "Zionist state" didn't exist everything in the Middle East would be all lovey-dovey. The Christian and Muslim factions would go on picnics together and sing kumbaya around a campfire (of burning Jewish embers!) and gas prices would be low and Norman Rockwell would return as from the dead and... Ah yes... if not for those meddlesome Jews!
There must be some Solution to our shared Jewish problem, some Final Solution....
Its the same old song and dance!
Once again it may mean open war...
And Israel is currently being led by someone (Ehud Omert) who lacks the courage to say no to Bush and the NWO or to place his faith firmly in HaShem, to fully deploy his military might when needed, and to Stand Boldly for Israel!
"Never Again" Means "Not Now Either!"Stand tall in faith Israel and HaShem will again deliver His people!!
Remember the example of King Ahaz! HaShem will not and has not abandoned His people! Have courage and STAND!
Yisheyah 6 (Isaiah 7) in the JPS
(JEWISH PUBLICATION SOCIETY BIBLE).
1: And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Aram, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it; but could not prevail against it.
2: And it was told the house of David, saying: 'Aram is confederate with Ephraim.' And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moved with the wind.
3: Then said HaShem unto Isaiah: 'Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear-jashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, in the highway of the fullers' field;
4: and say unto him: Keep calm, and be quiet; fear not, neither let thy heart be faint, because of these two tails of smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Aram, and of the son of Remaliah.
5: Because Aram hath counselled evil against thee, Ephraim also, and the son of Remaliah, saying:
6: Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set up a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeel;
7: thus saith the L-rd GOD: it shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.
8: For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people;
9: And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not have faith, surely ye shall not be established.'
10: And HaShem spoke again unto Ahaz, saying:
11: 'Ask thee a sign of HaShem thy G-d: ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.'
12: But Ahaz said: 'I will not ask, neither will I try HaShem.'
13: And he said: 'Hear ye now, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to weary men, that ye will weary my G-d also?
14: Therefore the L-rd Himself shall give you a sign: behold, the young woman shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
15: Curd and honey shall he eat, when he knoweth to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
16: Yea, before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land whose two kings thou hast a horror of shall be forsaken.
17: HaShem shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.'
18: And it shall come to pass in that day, that HaShem shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
19: And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the rugged valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all brambles.
20: In that day shall the L-rd shave with a razor that is hired in the parts beyond the River, even with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and it shall also sweep away the beard.
21: And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall rear a young cow, and two sheep;
22: and it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give, he shall eat curd; for curd and honey shall every one eat that is left in the midst of the land.
23: And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, shall even be for briers and thorns.
24: With arrows and with bow shall one come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.
25: And all the hills that were digged with the mattock, thou shalt not come thither for fear of briers and thorns, but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of sheep.
So... who killed commander Imad Mughniyeh? That's the big question right now.
Why would Israel kill Mughniyeh now when Jerusalem is being so threatened by Bush and Rice? Remember, Bush has promised to divide Jerusalem and make East Jerusalem the capital of yet another Islamic Ummah state, known as Palestine, by the end of his term (if he leaves office).
Such instability does not help Israel, it only invites globalist involvement and intervention.
I suspect the actual assassins are identified in this piece: "...The former Hezbollah security chief was one of world's most wanted fugitives, accused of masterminding attacks that killed hundreds of Americans in Lebanon in the 1980s...."
NWO pawn Bush desperately needs to convince the American people that Israel needs to be slapped down a few pegs, if not destroyed. His Saud royal family NWO compatriots are demanding this of him and in Annapolis last year he and his henchperson Condi Rice set about doing just this: the desecration and division of Jerusalem by January, 2009. Something Hillary supports BTW.
Implicating Israel not only in a political assassination like this, but in one that places American Jews (and others in their vicinity) in jeopardy and that could lead to World War 3 could be used to do just this:
"The chief of Hezbollah told throngs of supporters at a funeral for slain commander Imad Mughniyeh his group would retaliate against Israeli targets anywhere in the world after accusing the Jewish state of killing the militant (emphasis mine)."
Note Nasrallah's threat that, "...the killing of Mughniyeh did not weaken his organization, but rather provided an incentive for "tens of thousands" of guerrillas who stood ready to fight Israel," and that, "Mughniyeh's blood will lead to the elimination of Israel. These words are not an emotional reaction" (emphasis mine).
By showing that because of the Israeli government's "very big folly that will be avenged" all of Israel is now facing possible genocide, plus the dangers the political hit could mean globally... the NWO powers-that-be can claim a virtual mandate to restructure the Middle East in their own image. As the Church Lady would say, "How convienant!
Enter Kaptain Amerikka: Bush to the rescue! He'll offer (coerce) to restore the peace by giving East Jerusalem to Hezbollah "Palestinians" while making it clear to the Israelis that if Israel does not comply with NWO demands they will use the Islamic Ummah as their 21st century Final Solution to the Jewish problem!
This is why I think this is happening right now.
The Prophecies must be fulfilled.
Muslim prophecies demand that Prophet Jesus and Iman Madhi must meet in a non-Jewish East Jerusalem and from there destroy the Jews world wide.
Following that event a hadith says: "A Jew will not be found alone with a Muslim without plotting to kill him." According to another, Prophet Muhammad said: "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. 'O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so come kill him'. This hadith has been quoted countless times, and it has become a part of the charter of Hamas.
This interpretation is confirmed by the Wikipedia:
"On 30 March 2007, Hamas spokesman Ismail Radwan ended his "prayers to Allah" in a sermon broadcast on the Palestinian Authority’s TV quoting the hadith "The Hour [of Resurrection] will not take place until the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims kill them, and the rock and the tree will say: 'Oh, Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, kill him!'" Al Aqsa mosque would be "liberated" "through the rifle", since the Israeli occupation knew no other language. He asked "Jihad-fighting worshippers" in "Palestine and everywhere" and Allah to take away the oppressor Jews and Americans and their supporters!"[71]
But Bush and Hillary want to give these people East Jurusalem, Judea and Samaria!

Two News Stories on the killing:
First Source: Al Jazeera
Nasrallah: Hezbollah ready to fight
Nasrallah said Israel should expect 'open war' after he accused it of attacking targets outside Lebanon [AFP]
The secretary-general of Hezbollah has said that his movement is ready for open warfare with Israel, in a speech to supporters mourning the death of a senior commander.
Accusing Israel of killing Imad Moghniyeh in a car bomb blast in the Syrian capital Damascus late on Tuesday, Hassan Nasrallah said on Thursday that it had "crossed the borders".
"With this murder, its timing, location and method - Zionists [Israel] if you want this kind of open war, let the whole world listen: Let this war be open," he said.
He also said that Hezbollah fighters had started preparing for the next war immediately after the end of the 2006 war with Israel.
Imad Moghniyeh
The life of an elusive figure
Speaking in a videotaped message to supporters at the funeral service for Moghniyeh in southern Beirut, Nasrallah said: "Like all human beings we have a sacred right to defend ourselves.
"We will do all that it takes to defend our country and people."
Different visions
The speech by Nasrallah, who is in hiding after the July 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah, came shortly after an event in the Lebanese capital to mark the third anniversary of the assassination of Rafiq al-Hariri, a former prime minister.
Security was tight in Beirut as thousands of people gathered for the two separate rallies, which highlighted the deep divisions in the country.
Leaders in the pro-government March 14 bloc had supporters in the al-Hariri commemoration to show their rejection of alleged Syrian efforts to regain influence in Lebanon.

Hezbollah, which is supported by Syria and Iran, has led an opposition political bloc against March 14 for the past three years.
Rula Amin, Al Jazeera's correspondent in Beirut, said the rallies in Beirut advanced different visions for Lebanon.
"In the al-Hariri rally the speakers there were taking pride that it was the United States, the EU and the West that was backing them and empowering their constituency," she said.
"In the southern suburbs at the funeral for Moghniyeh there was defiance to Israel, the United States and the West in general - who consider Mogniyeh a terrorist.
"This [funeral gathering] was a strong message from Hezbollah - they wanted to show not just Israel but the March 14 leaders that they also command support on the streets."

to stay out of Lebanese politics [AFP]
Hezbollah has accused Israel of killing Moghniyeh, while Syria, a supporter of Hezbollah, branded the attack a "cowardly and terrorist act".
Nasrallah blamed Israel directly for Moghniyeh's death, and said that the July 2006 war with Israel was continuing, although not on a military level.
"The July war is still continuing - until now, no ceasefire has been proclaimed. This war is continuing at the political level, at the media level, at the financial and material level, at the security level," he said.
"It is supported by the same countries that supported Israel in the July war. This is why [Moghniyeh] was assassinated."
Nasrallah said that the death of Moghniyeh would only strengthen the resistance against Israel.
"Moghniyeh's blood will lead to the elimination of Israel. These words are not an emotional reaction," he said.
Amin said Nasrallah's word were "very clear" and that Lebanese people were wondering what Hezbollah would do next.
"For many Lebanese they are wondering: is this going to mean another war with Israel? Will it mean more bombings? Will they have to flee their homes again?" she said.
Israel has ordered its military, embassies and Jewish institutions around the world to increase security measures in case of revenge attacks, Israeli officials said on Thursday, on condition of anonymity.
Syria blamed
Earlier on Thursday, thousands of people attended a rally to mark the third anniversary of al-Hariri's death.
Nasrallah speech
Hezbollah ready to expand fight aginst Israel
They carried Lebanese flags and photographs of al-Hariri and other politicians and political figures killed in attacks blamed on Syria.
Al-Hariri was killed in a car bombing on Beirut's seafront in 2005, sparking mass protests and the withdrawal of Syrian troops after 29 years.
Syria denies any links to a series of killings across Lebanon in the past three years.
"In 2005 you took to the streets to force them out. In 2008 you must do the same so that they don't come back," read messages on billboards around Beirut.
In a speech to the rally, Saad al-Hariri, the former prime minister's son and the parliamentary leader of the ruling bloc, said that three years ago forces tried to "assassinate Lebanon".
"Here you are today, gathering once again, responding to the call of freedom, sovereignty and independence," he told the crowd.
Schools and universities were ordered to shut on Thursday, while most businesses were set to close as the government declared a holiday.
Staying at home
Concerns that the two events could spark unrest between opposing political supporters prompted foreign embassies to urge their citizens to observe extreme caution and avoid travel in Beirut.
The day of mourning for both the March 14 ruling bloc and its opponent Hezbollah comes amid continuing differences in Lebanese politics.
There has been a power vacuum in Lebanon since November, with opposing political factions failing to agree on a new president and the distribution of key cabinet portfolios.
Al-Hariri called for the parliamentary vote to confirm General Michel Suleiman as president, which has been postponed 14 times, to go ahead.
"We want a president for the republic," he told the rally.
Israeli denial
The Israeli prime minister's office denied allegations that it had played any role in Moghniyeh's killing.
"Israel rejects the attempts of terror elements to attribute to Israel any involvement in this incident," Ehud Olmert's office said in a statement on Wednesday.
Iran also accused Israel of carrying out the attack.

bombing of a US embassy in 1983 [Reuters]
However, the US welcomed Moghniyeh's killing, saying that he had been responsible for many deaths.
"The world is a better place without this man in it. He was a cold-blooded killer, a mass murderer and a terrorist responsible for countless innocent lives lost," Sean McCormack, the US state department spokesman, said on Wednesday.
Also known as Hajj Radhwan, Moghniyeh was widely suspected of being behind a wave of Western hostage-taking in Lebanon in the 1980s, claims denied by Hezbollah.
According to the US and the West, he was a "top terrorist" and was involved in the bombing of the US embassy in Beirut in April 1983.
The US also claims he was involved in the killing of hundreds of US marines and French paratroopers in simultaneous truck bomb attacks in October 1983.

And the second from Associated Press
The chief of Hezbollah told throngs of supporters at a funeral for slain commander Imad Mughniyeh his group would retaliate against Israeli targets anywhere in the world after accusing the Jewish state of killing the militant.
Israel ordered its military, embassies and Jewish institutions overseas to go on alert earlier in the day, fearing revenge attacks for the car bomb that killed Mughniyeh Tuesday night in Damascus. The former Hezbollah security chief was one of world's most wanted fugitives, accused of masterminding attacks that killed hundreds of Americans in Lebanon in the 1980s.
While Hezbollah supporters bid farewell to Mughniyeh, tens of thousands of their pro-Western political opponents filled a downtown Beirut square to mark former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri's 2005 assassination. The opposing gatherings reflected Lebanon's divided soul and fearing clashes, authorities deployed thousands of troops. But by evening, there were no reports of violence.
Hezbollah and its Iranian backers blamed Israel for killing Mughniyeh but Israel denied involvement.
In a fiery, videotaped eulogy broadcast on a giant screen to tens of thousands attending the south Beirut funeral, Nasrallah said Israel had taken the fight outside the "natural battlefield" of Israel and Lebanon.
"You have crossed the borders," he said. "With this murder, its timing, location and method — Zionists, if you want this kind of open war, let the whole world listen: Let this war be open."
Thousands gathered in a hall in the Roueiss neighborhood of Beirut where Mughniyeh's coffin lay draped in a Hezbollah flag. A band played Lebanon's national anthem and the guerrilla group's anthem. Outside in the rain, tens of thousands more stood in silence.
Nasrallah — himself in hiding because of fears of assassination since the 2006 summer war with Israel — warned Israel that its alleged killing of Mughniyeh was a "very big folly" which will be avenged.
"Mughniyeh's blood will lead to the elimination of Israel. These words are not an emotional reaction," he said, drawing roars from the crowd which raised fists into the air.
Nasrallah said the killing of Mughniyeh did not weaken his organization, but rather provided an incentive for "tens of thousands" of guerrillas who stood ready to fight Israel.
Soon after he finished speaking, volleys of celebratory gunfire echoed around the city's southern suburbs.
Unlike many Middle Eastern leaders whose speeches are riddled with idle rhetorical threats, Nasrallah is known for delivering on his promises, and Israel takes his threats seriously.
In 2006, he promised to take action to free Lebanese prisoners in Israel, and in July that year, Hezbollah guerrillas staged a daring cross-border raid that snatched two Israeli soldiers as bargaining chips.
The incident triggered a 34-day war between Israel and Hezbollah. Early in the fighting, Nasrallah said he would have "surprises" for Israel. Days later, his fighters hit an Israeli warship off the Lebanese Mediterranean coast with Chinese-made shore-to-sea C-802 missile, the first time the group had used the weapon. The war devastated south Lebanon, but Israel and Hezbollah have not negotiated a prisoner swap.
In Washington State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said threats such as Nasrallah's are alarming.
"As a general matter, those kinds of statements are quite concerning and they should be alarming to everyone," he said. "Quite clearly, Hezbollah has a long record of carrying out violent acts and acts of terrorism around the globe. You have a pathway of violence that stretches from Buenos Aires to Kuwait and a lot of places in between."
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, who came to the funeral in Lebanon, offered condolences to the family and Mughniyeh's associates. Underlining Iran's close ties to Hezbollah, he sat between Mughniyeh's father and Hezbollah's deputy leader.
"He's not the first martyr, nor will he be the last on this path," Mottaki said, reading a statement of condolences from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with an interpreter translating into Arabic. "There will be hundreds and millions more" like him.
Mughniyeh's killing exacerbated tensions within Lebanon, a country already entrenched in a long-running political crisis that has left it without a president and with its parliament paralyzed.
As the funeral proceeded in south Beirut, across the city tens of thousands gathered in the main Martyrs' Square to commemorate the third anniversary of Hariri's assassination. The anti-Syrian rally appeared larger than the crowds at Mughniyeh's funeral, but it had been planned weeks in advance.
They braved rain and cold, waving Lebanese flags, pictures of Hariri and party banners.
Crowds also paid respects at Hariri's gravesite next to the downtown square as his brother, Shafik, unveiled a statue of the slain leader at the spot where he was killed, a few hundred yards away on a seaside boulevard. A flame was lit and a taped message broadcast from Hariri's widow, Nazek, who lives in Paris, urging against "falling into hatred" and calling on "unity to save the country."
In the square, the sound of beating drums mixed with cheers from the crowd as speakers lashed out at Syria.
Saad Hariri, leader of the parliamentary majority and the late premier's son, launched a scathing attack against the Syrian government. But he spared Hezbollah and its opposition allies, apparently in deference to the funeral. He even reached out to the opposition, saying: "Our hand will remain extended no matter what difficulties and conspiracies there are."
He also called for the election of a president in parliament, accusing Syria of obstructing the choice since November through its Lebanese allies.
When Hariri alluded to Mughniyeh's funeral on the other side of the city, the crowd booed.
"He fell under the eyes of the Syrian regime," he said of Mughniyeh, adding sarcastically: "God knows better."
Druse leader Walid Jumblatt, a sharp critic of Hezbollah, said the government will not succumb to opposition efforts to deliver Lebanon "to the Iranian-Syrian black evil world." Jumblatt accused the "treacherous regime" of Syrian President Bashar Assad of killing Mughniyeh.
Suleiman Abu Ezzedine, 35, holding an umbrella, said he left work to come to "remind that we are the majority. We want justice, truth and peace."
Hariri's supporters blame Syria for killing the prominent politician in a massive suicide truck bombing in Beirut and for a series of bombings and assassinations since. Hariri's killing ignited mass protests and international pressure that forced Syria to withdraw its army from Lebanon after 29 years of control.
The State Department said the anniversary was "a reminder to the world and the people of Lebanon about the sacrifices that many around the world and in Lebanon are making to build a strong democratic state." Spokesman McCormack said the U.S. supports those who want to build a Lebanon "independent and unfettered by foreign interference."
Authorities deployed some 8,000 troops and policemen to protect the Hariri rally. Armored vehicles took up positions on major intersections, and additional razor wire was brought in to separate the two sides. But there was no sign of violence by evening.
Amid fears of street violence, the U.S. Embassy encouraged Americans in Lebanon to limit all but essential travel Thursday.
Mughniyeh was on the FBI's list of most wanted terrorists, and the U.S. had offered a $5 million bounty for information leading to his arrest or conviction. He was indicted in the U.S. for his role in planning the 1985 hijacking of a TWA airliner in which a U.S. Navy diver was killed.
He was also accused of carrying out or directing a series of spectacular attacks, including engineering the suicide bombings of the U.S. Marines barracks and two embassy compounds in Beirut in 1983-84.
A total of about 260 Americans were killed in those attacks. Mughniyeh was also believed to be the mastermind behind the kidnappings of Americans and other Westerners in Beirut in the 1980s. Israel and Argentine prosecutors accused Mughniyeh of involvement in the 1992 and 1994 bombings of the Israeli embassy and a Jewish center in Buenos Aires, attacks that killed more than 100 people.
He vanished in the early 1990s, reportedly undergoing plastic surgery and moving between Lebanon, Syria and Iran on fake passports.

Is God the creator and source of evil?
Here's another Q&A we can discuss!
Isaiah 45:7 says,"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
Does it mean God is the creator and source of evil?
-- Eddie
How would you answer?
Hi Eddie,
This is an important question.
From a standard Baptist (and general Christian) perspective, God is the sole Creator, hence, "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
Therefore everything that exists, directly or indirectly, stems from God (HaShem: The One Whose Name is Holy).
For we humans time is very important. We (hopefully) seek to understand the past but can only theorize about the future. God however is not limited in any way. He sees the past, present and future the same.
This means that when HaShem created Lucifer He knew that he would rebel and become Satan, but He created him anyway.
Why?
Because it was in the Mind of God that humans should have free will rather than worship Him as zombies, so to speak. God ALLOWS Lucifer, his demons, and our own human weaknesses like greed and envy, to test our faith and facilitate our free will decisions to accept or reject Him and the Good. Our time on earth is the field in which this all important question is resolved.
To understand this process and its importance I recommend the Book of Job. In that wonderful biblical book Lucifer questions Job's faith and obedience to HaShem. 'He only worships you because you pay him off!' Lucifer challenges Job (note that Lucifer does NOT challenge HaShem, he challenges Job). But Lucifer is a liar and the father of all liars! Job aptly demonstrates that we humans have the free will and the potential integrity to say, 'Yea though He slays me, still I will submit to HaShem's Will!'
Some people seem to believe that God and Satan are dualistic opposites engaged in an eternal struggle, but this is not what the Bible teaches.
HaShem has no opposite!
HaShem has no equal!
God is One. God is Sovereign over ALL. However it is in the Will of this utterly One God that we have freedom. For this reason, in the world there is dualistic good and evil... and a fair amount of gray!... and it is our lot in life to decide where we stand.
"... as for me and my house, we will serve HaShem" -- Joshua 24:15
The choice is ours.
Hope this clarifies the issue for you.
May God's best be yours,
~Pastor John

Raising Kids Spiritually
Here's another Q & A I thought worth sharing:
Hi, I am a mother of two children, a boy age 11 and a girl age 7. It was decided they would not be baptized, feeling that it would be imposing a religion on them that was accompanied with more hatred than love. This decision still brings about some confliction because although I believe in God, the teachings by others I've seen are hypocritical and full of fire and brimstone. Which, I feel is not what God is about.
My question to you is, How can I still do right by my children, giving them a faith or a belief that they can grasp to, while still giving them the choice as they grow to decide which religious or spiritual path they take?
I believe we are all here for a divine reason. I believe what we put out into the universe, is what we get back. I guess I'm trying to find the right spiritual teachers that can also help me to guide my children to an uplifting force instead of hateful worshipers.
I apologize for the length of my question, but I'm torn. As I see my children getting older, it feels as if time is slipping faster away.
Thanks for your time
Candy
My reply:
Your thoughts?
Hi Candy,
As parents (I have two now adult sons) we are responsible to teach our kids religious and spiritual values. It is the nature of kids to rebel against what they hold to be false (outdated etc) as they grow up. If we train our kids in a particular religious tradition or belief system they will be inclined to give it more credence as they age. If they see worth in it they may stay within the form they are raised in, but if, as they grow up, they decide the form or doctrines are bogus they will usually leave them or seek out new forms.
The difference is that adults who grow up without any religious training or beliefs usually never develop them while those who are raised with religious/spiritual faith generally maintain the foundational truths learned as a child. In other words, belief in God, respect for others, respect for life, faith, etc. As you said, "although I believe in God..."
It is, in my opinion, best to raise ones kids in the belief system one believes is right or best for them (both for the parents and the kids). In all things be honest with your kids (with due consideration for what they can comprehend of course). If you don't believe, as an example ONLY, in the Trinity of God, in Hell, etc. don't teach these things to your kids as though you do. Kids can smell hypocrisy a mile away! As they age its good to explain such concepts as things some people believe in and why you don't, so they will have a better understanding. This also encourages them to think for themselves and demonstrates that you encourage this form of independent thought.
Baptism is an ordinance of the Christian faith. Christening (of children), which I assume is what you mean, is an ordinance of part of that Church (not all). If you are not raising your kids in churches that hold to these ordinances there would be no reason to have your kids pass through them. Baptism and Christening are only ways of getting wet without faith in what they represent. Its the heart and the intent that matters, not the external ritual.
If your kids are still into being read to you might try reading stories to them from the various religious traditions. There are several good story-book style presentations of Noah and the Ark, of the Buddha's early life and enlightenment, etc. This can help the kids get a handle on the importance and existence of diversity of religious faith and belief. Whether they are or ever become people of faith, it is important that they understand the importance of religion both socially and politically, if not spiritually and personally.
I think you will want to do some more personal introspection as well and determine what you personally believe. Teachers are important of course, but introspection is vital. If there is a spouse/co-parent in the family (you don't say here) I'd discuss this with that person as well. If you are "on the same page" spiritually it will make things easier. If not, then not.
But determine what you believe and then allow your kids to see your faith in action. Attend religious service and invite (or gently require) your kids to join you (or go alone). When good things happen in your life spoken comments like, "Thank you God" both remind you of God's presence and bears witness to your kids that you are a "Believer." Likewise when difficulties arise, allow your kids to see you seek Divine help and guidance. The "prayer closet" has its place, but so does demonstrating faith to those around us. How else will they learn?
More than what we say, kids learn by what they see. So let them see your faith in action. I'm reminded of these verses:
James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Allow your kids to witness the works of your faith and they will understand.
If you pass a homeless person who looks hungry or asks for help, step into a restaurant and buy something for him/her to eat. Hand it to the person with the assurance that you will pray for his/her well being (I seldom just give such folks money). When you get back to your car, before leaving, bow your head and ask God to help the person. This should be done in all sincerity of course, but allow your kids to witness your faith in action. And if you say you are going to pray for someone, PRAY for them! This promise/assurance should never be used as merely something one says. There is much power in sincere prayer. Utilize it for the good.
If you have the time, volunteer at food pantries or similar places. Jesus says that the whole of the Law of God can be summed up as follows:
Love God with your whole heart.
Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
Faith does not require external religion, it requires internal intention. This of course is not to deny the importance of external religion, but that should be the byproduct of ones internal faith.
Show them your faith in action and everything will be fine.
Hope this helps,

How Did We Get The Bibles We Have Today?
Another Question Answered,
Your thoughts are invited below:
| | Is the Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Protestant and Catholic Bible all the same? If there are differences, what are they and why? How long have they been different? Thank you |
Hi John,
The Eastern Orthodox (Greek, Armenian, Russian etc), Roman Catholic, Anglican and Protestant Bibles are basically the same, with some differences. You can find a side-by-side comparison at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Books_of_the_Bible
This is a very complex topic but I'll try and give a brief account here. You can always write back for more details if you wish.
In general terms, Irenaeus (2nd-3rd century CE), bishop of Lugdunum in Gaul, which is now Lyons, France, was given the task of determining which books would be included in the Christian cannon. When the Roman and Eastern Orthodox Churches (patriarchates) split a few changes were made, for instance the Eastern Church kept 2 Esdras while the Western Church did not.
When the Protestant Reformation took place (circa 1517 CE) the Reformers rejected the Apocrapha (ie the Books of Maccabees, the last chapter of Daniel -- Bel and the Dragon, etc.). Many of these were in the original 1611 Authorized King James but were later removed). Martin Luther also questioned the Book to the Hebrews (in part because it is anonymous), James, Jude and the Book of Revelation of Jesus Christ to John (aka the Apocalypse) but these books remain within the official Protestant cannon and indeed have become very important to Protestant doctrine.
The first recognized Hebrew cannon ("Old Testament") was ratified in 400 BCE.
In 367 CE Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria listed the books of our present New Testament using the term "canonized" (kanonizomena) to do so. This did not establish the Catholic Canon, but it does show the presence and official acceptance of our New Testament as it now exists dating from at least that point. Prior to Emperor Constantine's third century declaration of the establishment of the Universal Roman Church (ie the "Roman Catholic Church") the followers of Jesus used a very wide and diverse range of writings as scripture (including of course the Tanakh (or "Old Testament"). Over the years several other Church authorities made lists including the same books. However the cannon did not become official until much later:
For Roman Catholicism, at the Council of Trent in 1546
For the Church of England (Anglicanism) in 1563
For Protestants at large "the Bible" was the 1611 Authorized King James Version.
For Calvinism (the Westminster Confession of Faith) in 1647
For the Greek Orthodox (and thence the other Christian Orthodox communions) at the Synod of Jerusalem of 1672.
BUT the canons were already generally accepted, these declarations simply made them "official."
However, within these accepted and authorized biblical texts and canons is a wide and at times conflicting diversity. Since the beginning, Christians have debated which Bible version and which books were sanctioned by God and the Church and which were merely the teachings of at best tradition and at worse heresy.
It is said that the Apostle Paul never traveled without his copy of the Book of Enoch. Consider this verse from Jude verse 14 and 15:
"And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints.
To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him."
Now contrast this biblical quote with Enoch 1:9:
"And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones To execute judgement upon all, And to destroy all the ungodly: And to convict all flesh Of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed, And of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."
According to Tertullian (circa 200 CE) the Book of Enoch was rejected by the Jews because it contained prophecies pertaining to the Messiah. Isn't it interesting that the Roman Church (and thence the Orthodox, Anglican and Protestant) rejected Paul's favorite book.
For Protestants, who brought the Bible to masses, the issue of which biblical source materials and which translation to rally around was largely resolved early on with the Authorized King James Version (although a couple of other good translations of the Textus Receptus (ie the "received biblical texts" most ancient versions were translated from) such as the Revised Standard Version came along hundreds of years later.
For Roman and Eastern Orthodox Christians there was the Syriac, Coptic, Ethiopic and Georgian translations as well as the Douay-Rheims and the Jerusalem Bible, but NO BIBLE VERSION in history had the impact or long life of the Authorized King James Version. For the past 1500 years the Authorized King James was THE Bible.
The KJV (of 1611) remained "the Bible" until our times. The historic Textus Receptus source material upon which Christianity was established is now being abandoned in exchange for less scholarly, less historically significant, recently unearthed texts of dubious origins, the copyrights of which are owned by secular book houses: "Follow the money honey."
These new bibles, such as the Good News For Modern Man, the New International Version, the Reader's Digest Bible, the New King James Version, the Inclusive Version etc. directly contradict the essential teachings of the Authorized King James Version (and the Textus Receptus from which it as most other ancient versions arise) countless times. It is not too much to say that these new bibles are creating a new christianity, one that is witnessing the Laodiciafication of the Christian religion (contrast Rev. 3:15-20). For examples of several of these doctrinal differences, see my http://www.allfaith.com/Religions/Christianity/kingjames.html where I contrast a few of the differences between the KJV and the NIV by referring various verses.
Hope this helps,

Vote For Obama! Stop Hillary! Clintons injects $5 million of their own to secure queenship!
Stop Hillary!
Another letter from the Obama campaign that is worth considering. It is still possible to stop Hillary!
John --
I was writing a note to you about the state of the race after Super Tuesday when we got some startling news.
The Clinton campaign just announced that Hillary and Bill Clinton injected $5 million of their personal fortune into her campaign a few days ago.
This is a dramatic move, and a clear acknowledgement that our campaign has the momentum. We saw undeniable evidence of that last night as the results came in.
Barack Obama won the most states and the most delegates on February 5th.
We have gotten to this point thanks to an unprecedented outpouring of support from ordinary Americans.
To date, more than 650,000 people like you have taken ownership of this campaign, giving whatever they can afford.
The Clinton infusion of $5 million -- and there are reports it could end up being as much as $20 million -- will give them huge resources for the next set of primaries and caucuses.
Thanks to you, we have raised more than $3 million since the polls closed on February 5th. But we have no choice -- we must match their $5 million right now.
We're going to do it the right way, with small donations from people like you. It's never been more urgent that you make a donation of $25 right now:
https://donate.barackobama.com/results
Just two weeks ago we were behind by double-digits in many of the states that voted yesterday, but Barack won 13 states to 8 states for Hillary Clinton, with one state (New Mexico) still counting votes.
This is an enormous victory, and it's all thanks to you.
We won yesterday because thousands upon thousands of individual supporters canvassed their neighborhoods, talked to their neighbors and friends, and made phone calls to remind their fellow supporters to get out the vote.
And we accomplished all of this with a campaign funded by ordinary people giving only what they can afford.
Yesterday was proof that America is ready for change -- and that you are the force to make that change happen.
But there's still a long way to go before Barack becomes the Democratic nominee. In the next week alone, six more states will hold their primaries and caucuses.
We need to match this $5 million personal contribution from the Clintons immediately and put these resources to work in the states that will vote next.
Please make a donation of $25 now:

Here are some details about yesterday's historic victory. According to official results and exit polls:
Barack won 2-to-1 in traditionally conservative states where Democrats are hungry for a nominee who can change the map and help Democrats up and down the ticket win in November
Our winning coalition included Americans of every race, background, and gender -- including 64% of women in Georgia
We scored wins in every region of the country -- New England, the Mid-Atlantic, the South, the Midwest, the Rocky Mountain states, and the West
Americans had a clear choice to make yesterday, and they chose Barack Obama.
Now let's match this $5 million and take this campaign into the next stage.
Thank you,
David

A Note From Obama
My state, California, foolishly chose Hillary and McCain yesterday.
This is, in my opinion, a disastrous error in judgement because I don't think McCain can beat Hillary and because Hillary is... well a demon incarnate...
The race is not over yet though!
If you live in a state that has not yet voted YOU can turn this thing around!
VOTE FOR OBAMA! if you are registered as a Democrat or Independent.
VOTE FOR HUCKABEE if you are a registered Republican.
ONLY Obama can beat Hillary now for the Democratic nomination.
STOPPING THE BUSH/CLINTON DYNASTY IS JOB ONE!
Among the Republicans, I think Huckabee (who I disagree with on several issues) could rally both sides of that party and draw in many intelligent and patriotic Democrats. I also think he is a patriot who would try and block the implementation of the North American Union.
I believe John McCain MAY be a basically good man, but I don't think he can bring over enough Democrats to stop Hillary because of his constant support of the war. STOPPING HILLARY IS JOB ONE.
BURNED TO DEATH THE CHILDREN, WOMEN AND MEN OF WACO
WHO CRAFTED AND IMPLEMENTED NAFTA
WHO VOTED FOR AND SUPPORTS THE WARS IN IRAQ AND ELSEWHERE
WHO HAS PUBLICLY STATED HER INTENTION TO INVADE IRAN
WHO SUPPORTS THE DIVISION OF JERUSALEM
WHO WILL TAKE AWAY THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO OWN AND BEAR ARMS
WHO WILL FURTHER THE BUSH FASCIST AGENDA IN ALL AREAS
WHO SAID: "Every nation has to either be with us, or against us. Those who harbor terrorists, or who finance them, are going to pay a price." [sound familiar?]
"I believe in a zone of privacy" [ie not in personal privacy rights]
"I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president." [ie who at least co-ran the Clinton White House and therefore shares responsibility for the treasonous acts committed. Acts like deliberately murdering by inferno the Branch Davidians in cold blood (which was directly ordered by Hillary), like forcing NAFTA in, the treaty that will soon lead to the replacing of the USA by the North American Union, who raped the governmental coffers in offer to "balance the budget," etc. etc.
"If I want to knock a story off the front page, I just change my hairstyle" [ie who does such things! Who brags and jests about controlling the media for her own advantages! No patriotic co-president would say such a thing!]
"In the aftermath of September 11, and as the 9/11 Commission report so aptly demonstrates, it is clear that our intelligence system is not working the way that it should." [ie she plans to follow in Bush's footsteps and increase surveillance on American citizens and continue stripping away our privacy and other rights]
"In the Bible it says they asked Jesus how many times you should forgive, and he said 70 times 7. Well, I want you all to know that I'm keeping a chart." [First, that expression meant we must show unlimited forgiveness, secondly Hillary's statement demonstrates the calculating nature of this demon. She has lists. Make no mistake about it!]
"In too many instances, the march to globalization has also meant the marginalization of women and girls. And that must change." [ie she supports globalization and the implementation of the NWO and the global ridership of the Bildeberg Elite.]
"Let's not leave an educational vacuum to be filled by religious extremists who go to families who have no other option and offer meals, housing and some form of education. If we are going to combat extremism then we must educate those very same children." [ie she plans to wage war on religious freedom, to gain control of charitable religious organizations and to determine which beliefs are and are not acceptable. Those that are not, she will prohibit]
"The American people are tired of liars and people who pretend to be something they're not." [Apparently not! Hillary will probably be the democratic nomination if We the People don't stop her. Just recall how she shed crocodile tears recently and went up in the polls! The American Sheeple bought it hook line and sinker! It looks like the American people would prefer a contestant on an episode Jerry Springer to a decent and loyal patriot!]
"Probably my worst quality is that I get very passionate about what I think is right." [Just think about the things she thinks is right!]
"We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society." [Bye bye individual rights!]
Hillary's Leadership In Action
She burned innocent American children, women and men to death!
Later her friend Dubya signed away the sovereignty of the US in the same town (Click Here!)
Vote for Obama in the Primaries!
Vote for Obama in the Primaries!
Then for McCain or whoever the Republicans run in the general
Its the only shot we have left!
Now a note from Obama:
John --
The votes will be counted into the night and into tomorrow, but today we won states and we won delegates in every part of the country.
As of right now, we have won more states and delegates than Senator Clinton. It's a remarkable achievement we can all be proud of.
Tonight, we know one thing for sure -- our time has come, our movement is real, and change is coming to America.
At this moment in history, the stakes are too high and the challenges too great to play the same Washington game with the same Washington players and expect a different result.
This time must be different.
There will be those who say it cannot be done. But we know what we have seen and what we believe -- that when ordinary people come together we can still do extraordinary things.
Yes, we can.
Thank you so much,
Barack
