There was a time, generally speaking, when the United States was mainly a White, Christian country with basic shared values. When lifelong heterosexual marriage was the norm...

That is no longer the case.

Like it or not.

Since the nation's founding 10-15% of Americans have been gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered and for almost all that time they have been denied their basic rights.

Like it or not this is true.

Just like in the 1950's and 1960's there were people trying to keep African Americans from having full rights, so too today there are people who want to deny this community their equal rights. The point came when slavery abolished, when women got the right to vote, etc. and now is the time for gays and lesbians to be granted equal rights as well.

A NO vote on prop 8 means NO change. GLBT will still be allowed to marry in California, as they currently. For the sake justice and human dignity, VOTE NO ON PROP 8!
