Protection from Tasers and Stunguns

FYI:

Protection from Tasers and Stunguns

There is a product called "Thor Shield" that protects against electric shock from Taser weapons and the like. The distributor makes a point of requiring a departmental purchase order or other identification showing it will be sold only to police and military.
This vaunted shield is nothing more than an electrical static discharge (ESD) barrier. These ESD shields are widely available. Chances are you can get one through your local stationery store. However, the best source with the widest selection is a company called Ferrishield, Inc. (www.ferrishield. com). You can obtain ESD material in bulk from this company. In particular, they sell a fabric with a hot-melt backing. This can be ironed on to the inside of your clothing.
For the past two years I've been seeing reports of police officers using Tasers on the genitals of people they're arresting. There is at least one video on Youtube showing this. Genitals can be protected by a device called a "Thai cup" that is available through martial arts supply companies. It is made of steel and can be inserted quickly inside briefs if one is approaching a dangerous situation. Thai cups also provide maximum protection against impact injury. They cost about $40.
