Dry Bones: Here and There

Here and There

Here and There

Feminists, Christians, Professors for Academic Freedom and Gays have only one country in the middle east that recognizes their human rights and respects their right to live openly as the people they are. That country is Israel.: Dry Bones cartoon.
There is only one country in the Middle East that recognizes Feminists, Christians, Professors for Academic Freedom and Gays as having human rights. There is only one nation in the entire Middle East which respects their right to live openly as the people they are in the life style that they enjoy in the West.
That one country is the Jewish State of Israel.

The country that their organizations love to hate.

Baptist and Methodist Communions

A reader asked the following:

What is the difference between the way the Baptist gives the communion and the way the Methodist give Communion?

My reply:
Your thoughts?

Hi Douglas.

The exact mechanics of Communion very slightly congregation by congregation as well as denomination by denomination. For instance some do it every Sunday, some on the first Sunday of the Month, some once a year; some use matza (unleavened bread), some crackers, some leavened bread, some wine, some grape juice... but despite these sorts of differences there are few substantial differences between Methodist and Baptist Communions.

The main differences would be that Methodists practice "open communion" which means that anyone who comes forward for communion is allowed to partake (whether "saved" of not and regardless of denominational affiliation if any -- no one has the right to refuse communion to another and taking it is a blessing for anyone who does partake). Baptists only allow those who are "saved" according to their beliefs/understandings to partake. This plays out in two basic ways:

1. In most Baptist churches one is asked if one has "been saved" before being served, often details will be requested of strangers (where were you saved? when? how?) to confirm that one is really saved. However this is usually handled in the talk leading up to communion with words like, "So if you have received Christ...." Most Methodists emphasize that "whosoever will" may take. Both views can be supported scripturally.

2. Only baptized Believers are allowed to partake among Baptists. This causes another observable difference in that while Methodists perform "infant baptisms" Baptists only do so after a person is old enough to make an intentional request for salvation. Hence little kids partake in Methodist churches while its rare to see someone under 8-12 years old partaking in a Baptist rite. 12 is a common age to "receive Jesus" and begin taking Communion even though children of devout Baptists (like Methodists) grow up under the teachings, Bible stories etc. There is no "First Communion" service (in Catholic terms) among Baptists or Methodists.

Hope this helps,

The "Obama" is encouraging other nations to join forces against Arizona!

ANOTHER Act of Treason!

Also see:
How you can help: http://frontpagemag.com/2010/10/26/how-america-can-stand-by-arizona/

Dear DHFC Supporter,

The outrageous attack on Arizona by President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Attorney General Eric Holder continues. But this time, it's worse! The Obama Administration is encouraging other nations to join forces against Arizona. So far, the Ninth Circuit Court has allowed 11 foreign nations, including Mexico, to join the United States' lawsuit against Arizona.

Watching an American president prompt foreign leaders to attack a member of our republic makes me heartsick. But unfortunately, circumventing the people through the courtroom has always been one of the far left's most effective ways to undermine America. Liberal activist judges in California's Ninth Circuit and elsewhere have consistently overruled the people.

So we must act fast. The Freedom Center - specifically our legal wing, the Individual Rights Foundation - is standing with the state of Arizona, and I'm asking you to help us. Our legal team is working on briefs to support Arizona in its right to protect its borders and its citizens. It is truly a David vs. Goliath battle and we need your financial support.

Will you follow this link right away to make a tax-deductible contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more to enable our legal team to support Arizona? With your contribution of $25 or more, I will rush you a copy of Breaking the System: Obama's Strategy for Change Today, our new pamphlet revealing the far left's step-by-step plan to bring down capitalism and the American way of life.

Remember, we are not talking about legal immigration. America has long been the single greatest land of opportunity for millions of legal immigrants. But Arizona, like all of our border states, is being overrun by illegal immigrants. And with them has come a huge increase in crime - rampant drug trafficking - and enormous costs born by our taxpayers.

But the radical liberal agenda behind the Open Borders movement doesn't care about these burdens. In fact, it relishes the confusion, fear and economic mayhem the flood of illegal immigrants creates. Its leaders are cheering the interference of American affairs by foreign countries. And our president is actively promoting such disunity, crime and economic misery!

We cannot allow Arizona to fight this battle alone, because Arizona's fight is our fight. That's why I'm asking you to help the Freedom Center fight side by side with Arizona by making the most generous contribution you can afford to support our legal team.

We must make certain Arizona has the best legal advice possible, including the legal team of the Individual Rights Foundation. Our staff understands the motivations and agenda of the radical left, so we are always able to provide counters to attacks others might not see coming. That means we must raise $65,000 over the next 72 hours to keep our legal team working and fighting alongside the people of Arizona.

So please take a moment right now to make a tax-deductible contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or whatever you can afford to support our legal team's efforts on behalf of Arizona.

Thank you for all you've done for the David Horowitz Freedom Center.

Sincerely,

David Horowitz

Islam Minnesota Style

Thought this might be of some interest.

Katherine Kersten: TiZA vs. the search for truth

http://www.startribune.com/opinion/commentary/105067899.html?page=3&c=y

The battle over the role of Islam in a Minnesota public school is heating up again in a federal courtroom in St. Paul. The conflict began in January 2009, when the ACLU of Minnesota sued Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy -- a K-8 charter school with campuses in Inver Grove Heights and Blaine -- for violating constitutional prohibitions against government endorsement of religion.

TiZA since has fought tooth and nail -- erecting procedural barriers to prevent the ACLU from investigating what goes on behind its doors. The school's tactics have gone far beyond the usual rough-and-tumble of lawyers in our adversary system. Its chief tool has been attempted intimidation of all who would draw back the curtain on its secrets.

One of TiZA's first targets was the ACLU itself. A few months after the suit began, the school filed a $100,000-plus defamation claim, citing ACLU executive director Chuck Samuelson's simple statement that "[TiZA is] a theocratic school ... as plain as the substantial nose on my face." The court dismissed the claim.

In January 2010, the ACLU was back in court to seek a protective order, on grounds that intimidation by TiZA was discouraging potential witnesses from appearing. The ACLU filed affidavits by a former TiZA parent and a former TiZA staff member, who described what they interpreted as threats of violence against them. In her affidavit, the female staff member said that Asad Zaman -- TiZA's executive director -- had suggested after she displeased him: "We could just kill you, yeah tell your husband we'll do his job for him." (Zaman has no recollection of making such a statement, he said in an affidavit.) The court barred witness harassment or intimidation by either party.

In June 2010, the ACLU returned to court to quash what it described as yet another TiZA attempt to intimidate current and former employees from speaking about what they had seen at the public school. TiZA's "Staff Handbooks include a secrecy clause, and related threat of legal action for violating it," according to the ACLU's court filings. TiZA "wields [these provisions] as a sledgehammer to keep former employees quiet about what they saw at the school." As a result, "former TiZA employees have expressed fear about speaking to the ACLU."

According to the ACLU, TiZA's refusal to agree not to enforce the secrecy clause "sends the ominous signal that current and former employees who talk to the ACLU may be forced to defend themselves against a baseless, expensive lawsuit."

On Oct. 1, Judge Donovan Frank agreed -- affirming an order the ACLU had earlier won barring TiZA from enforcing the confidentiality clause in the context of this litigation.

The court's order and memorandum spoke volumes: "It appears that information related to TiZA's business, finances, operations and office procedures is public data and cannot be kept secret." "The relevant question ... is why TiZA, a public charter school, does not want to allow its former and current employees to participate in the informal discovery process to ascertain the truth about how TiZA operates."

The court's strong language in response to TiZA's actions was unusual: "[I]ntimidation and threats will not sit well with a fact-finder such as a jury."
As a result of the school's actions, "[T]he Court may be required to draw adverse inferences about how TiZA operates as a result of TiZA's efforts to keep information about its operations secret. ... [TiZA's] behavior during the discovery process thus far ... has not been consistent with a good faith search for the truth."

The ACLU has characterized TiZA's recent actions regarding the secrecy clause as "only the last in a long line of intimidation efforts." Not quite. Last month, an attack was launched from a different front.

Several organizations that are not even parties to the lawsuit went to court in an attempt to disqualify the ACLU's lawyers -- Dorsey & Whitney -- from representing the ACLU on grounds that Dorsey personnel had previously communicated with Zaman about entities involved in the litigation. The organizations include the Muslim American Society of Minnesota (MAS-MN), MAS-MN Property Holding Corporation and the Minnesota Education Trust (MET).

What might they fear? Perhaps that Dorsey lawyers are in a position to prove that the scandal thus far -- and Zaman's role in it -- is just the tip of the iceberg. Dorsey lawyers had this to say in a Sept. 10 letter filed with the court:

"The ACLU believes Mr. Zaman's testimony relating to control of virtually every significant event at TiZA, MAS-MN, MET and MET's subsidiaries, coupled with his efforts to hide such control, constitute powerful evidence against TiZA's denials that it is a Muslim school and that it funnels state and federal money to other Muslim organizations."

Every time we read about this lawsuit, we have to pinch ourselves and say: We're talking about a public, taxpayer-funded school.

Barry Soetoro Day In Court May Come Yet!

Some of the top legal minds in the country are continuing to seek for a way to preserve our Constitution's requirement that only US citizens (and only natural born US citizens) can be president of this country. Now a new challenge (based on 1. Soetoro (aka Obama) being a British citizen (since he was born in the then-British colony of Kenya) and interestingly 2. that by allowing him to remain in power the Constitution itself is being automatically amended with Congressional tacit support. This is a threat to the very foundation of our formerly Constitutional government.

In my opinion the preeminent legal challenge should be that by becoming a citizen of Indonesia to attend the madrasa (Muslim school) Barry Soetoro forfeited ANY citizenship he may have once held (whether Kenyan, US or British). These are the two main challenges to his presidency (other than his open association with al Ikhwan).

But anyway... the "British citizenship" challenge is scoring a victory that COULD eventually turn into something serious IF Soetoro wins a second term (this probably wont be settled before 2012 in my opinion). So here, unedited, is the report from The United States Justice Foundation:

My Friend of What is Right,

A new court filing that returns the issue of Barack Obama's eligibility to the U. S. Supreme Court warns that unless the judiciary makes a definitive decision in the dispute, it will be the same as allowing the political interests in the United States to amend the U. S. Constitution at will.

A petition for writ of certiorari has been filed with the U. S. Supreme Court from the 3rd U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision to uphold the dismissal of a case which alleges that Congress failed to follow the Constitutional mandate which "provides for Congress to fully qualify the candidate 'elected' by the Electoral College Electors."

This means that the U.S. Supreme Court may soon review this case to decide whether to put it on the Court docket. AND, USJF will be filing a brief with the United States Supreme Court in support of this appeal if the Supreme Court accepts the case!

This is a huge win for those who have worked tirelessly to make sure that Mr. Obama's Birth Certificate will finally be produced.

The lawsuit further alleges that "Obama was born a British subject/citizen to a British subject/citizen father and a U.S. citizen mother. Obama's father was not a U.S. citizen and never intended to be one. Obama's father was never even an immigrant to the USA nor was he even a permanent legal resident. Obama's father was a foreign national sojourning in the USA to attend college. Obama is still a British subject/citizen to this day because he has never renounced that citizenship. According to this lawsuit, Obama was born a dual-citizen with dual allegiance and loyalty and is therefore not constitutionally eligible to be the president and commander-in-chief of our military."

As we have proclaimed and proved for over ONE YEAR: "Mr. Barack Hussein Obama is NOT ELIGIBLE to be the President of the United States of America!"

Yet, Mr. Obama continues to NOT prove his American citizenship. He even jokes publically: "I can't spend all of my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead." Those are the exact words that he exclaimed to NBC's Brian Williams. Even a reporter from ABC news recently asked one of Mr. Obama's top aides why he does not just provide his long form birth certificate!

Plain and simple: All we want is for him to prove his citizenship by providing a copy of that long-form birth certificate.

Yet, he has so much to hide from the American people!

He has reportedly spent more than $1,900,000.00 on attorneys' fees to literally HIDE his birth records and much more.

On Being Slain in the Spirit
Why the People Fall

Another Q & A with John of AllFaith -- 10.18.10

    Questioner: Nihal
    Private: no
    Subject: Why People fall?
    Question:

Why some worshipers fall backwards when Pastors lay hands on them to Bless? This act repeats on some without a result/Healing.
The Bible does not support this fall either.

My Reply:

Hi Nihal,

In the Bible when the Holy Spirit falls on a person they always fall forward in awe and worship not backwards (if they fall). As you say there is no biblical support for the practice commonly referred to as being slain in the Spirit.

In SOME cases the person is gradually placed off balance by the person "laying on hands" by gradual applied pressure during the "prayer" and then pushed gently one last time until they fall or must move to stay on their feet (in which case they are said to be "resisting the Spirit"). You can often see people shuffle to stay on their feet as the initial pressure is applied. Anyone can do this. Its become a popular party trick in some anti-Christian circles.

In SOME cases I have experienced both directly (personally) and indirectly (in others) this phenomenon where no such heretical tricks are used however, where the act appears to be legitimate (and where I am convinced it was) and where the Presence of God (the Ruach HaKodesh) is tangibly present: Both as the person doing the prayers and as the person being prayed for. Whether specifically mentioned in the Bible or not, God does move in this way at times.

Sometimes when we pray for healings and so on the answer is yes, and sometimes it is no. God is our Father and knows best. He at times blesses us even while declining our requests. He is God, not "Santa Claus."

When God bestows a blessing Lucifer often comes from behind and counterfeits it. The same is true with "speaking in tongues." The Bible gives very clear guidelines on this and much of the babel one hears in some churches has nothing to do with the biblical blessing. BUT the blessing does exist and is practiced today.

The best I can tell you is to seek God and His Will for your life. "Signs and wonders" are often deceptive The best I can tell you is to seek God and His Will for your life. "Signs and wonders" are often deceptive (Matthew 12:39).

List of the 136 members of Congress who voted against Israel between 1-5 times during the 111th Congress

Please be advised....This is an updated list of the 136 Congressmen I put together which voted against Israel between 1-5 times during the 111th Congress. It's very important the these ant-Semites get exposed to as many friends of Israel as possible. If they in turn send it to all on their email lists I truly believe it will have an effect on some races in the country. This is a spreadsheet which you can copy onto your own spreadsheet and then manipulate the data how you wish....Jerry
