QUESTION: I AM CUROIUS AS TO YOUR TAKE ON THE TALPIOT TOMB.J P.S.I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR NOAHIDE NAZARENE WORK.

My reply: Hi J,

Thanks for the kind words.

I don't really have a set opinion about the tomb. The inscription Jesus, son of Joseph doesn't tell us as much as many would like. Jesus (Y'shua, Joshua), was a common name as is Joseph. It would be like saying that an inscription that said Matthew son of David refers to a specific person named Matthew. Maybe it did, but who can say. It seems unlikely to me.

I'd like to see some solid evidence on this but as far as I've seen it just doesn't exist either way.

Wish I could be more helpful,

QUESTION: PROFESSOR JAMES TABOR FROM NORTH CAROLINA SEEMS TO THINK THAT THE TALPIOT OSSUARY INSCRIBED "MARIAMNE"IS SIGNIFICANT ON HIS BLOG AT JESUSDYNASTY.COM/BLOG.ANY COMMENTS?

My Reply:

Hi J,

This is part of the confusion/uncertainty it seems to me. If the site is as he and others believes, if MARIAMNE (and it is not certain that this is what it says) refers to Mary, mother of Y'shua it seems out of place and would disqualify the tomb, if to Mary Madelene it seems to contradict the idea that she (and Joseph of Arimathea) escaped the violence by fleeing to France where she entered into the Merovingian House, which of course is also conjecture.

To accept the former Mary creates more confusion than it resolves and to accept the latter dismisses a lot of centuries long tradition, tradition that is not without some, albeit inconclusive, evidence and raises other problematic questions.

Also while "Mariamene" could be the Greek version of the name Mary Magdalene, it is not found in any literary sources prior to the late second-third century, so why would it have been employed in Judea at that time?

This is like the Shroud (but with less historic evidence). It could be his burial site, it could be his burial cloth, but we at this time can't be certain based on what we know. I would love to have clear proof presented in both cases, but thus far, as far as I know, neither have been conclusively proved.

Its a matter of faith.

Faith in the Shroud supports Christian orthodoxy (ie that Y'shua rose from the dead following his execution), faith in this ossuary as being Y'shua's family plot denies Christian orthodoxy (ie that he did not resurrect and thence ascend into Heaven, if he in fact was executed at all).

According to the New Testament as we have it today:

I Cor 15:13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

So, this is a very important question with far reaching potentially dire consequences. In both cases, the Shroud and the Ossuary, the evidence is lacking in my opinion.

I do believe the possibility exists that as the coming Rex Mundi establishes his global authority he may proclaim himself to be a physical descendant of Mary Magdalena and Master Y'shua through the Merovingian House lineage. If this is the case, it seems plausible that he will point to the Talpiot Ossuary as evidence of his ancestry after the "supposed" death of Y'shua on the stauros (cross).

As is always the case with such issues, time will tell.

Just my 2 cents,
